The Rosemount 644 is a two-wire temperature transmitter available as a DIN A head mount with single (644H) or dual (644S) sensor input, or as a field mount with single (644F) or dual (644D) sensor input. It accepts 2-, 3- and 4-wire RTDs (Pt 100, Pt 200, Pt 500, Pt 1000, Ni 120, Cu 10 and others), thermocouples (Types B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T and others), mV and ohm inputs. Output is 4–20 mA with HART protocol (selectable Revision 5 and 7), FOUNDATION Fieldbus or PROFIBUS PA. The HART version operates on 12.0–42.4 Vdc at the transmitter terminals. It is certified to IEC 61508 for use in safety instrumented systems up to SIL 3 and offers an LCD display or local operator interface, integral transient protection, Hot Backup with dual sensors, sensor drift alert, thermocouple degradation diagnostic and transmitter-sensor matching with Callendar-Van Dusen constants. Stability for RTDs and thermocouples is ±0.15% of output reading or 0.15 °C, whichever is greater, for 24 months.
