ASCO Series 8551 RedHat II pilot operated, high flow spool valves for direct mounting on actuators with a NAMUR interface per VDI/VDE 3845. The compact spool valve converts from 3/2 to 5/2 with flow plates; 5/3 center closed and center open constructions are available in aluminum. Single and dual solenoid constructions. An integral breather block vents the spring side of the actuator to exhaust, preventing actuator corrosion. Hard T-seals combined with flexible o-rings give bubble-tight shutoff, resistance to dirt and multimillion cycle life on air or inert gas. Bodies in black anodized aluminum, brass or 316L stainless steel, 1/4 in NPT (1/8 in NPT exhaust on aluminum and brass), orifice 1/4 in, Cv 0.86; operating pressure differential 30 to 150 psi AC and 30 to 120 psi DC; maximum fluid temperature 140 °F AC, 120 °F DC. Wetted parts include NBR seals and discs and stainless steel core tube, core, plugnut and springs. Standard solenoid enclosure watertight Types 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4 and 4X; optional explosionproof and watertight Types 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 7 and 9 (prefix EF, or EV for stainless steel); brass is supplied standard with EF and stainless steel with EV. Class F coil, 10.1 W AC and 11.6 W DC. EF and EV are UL listed solenoids, CSA certified, meets applicable CE directives; UL/CSA approvals for aluminum constructions pending. SIL 3 capable per IEC 61508 on the normally closed single solenoid (exida). Nominal ambient: aluminum AC 5 to 125 °F (-15 to 52 °C), DC 5 to 104 °F (-15 to 40 °C); brass and stainless steel AC -40 to 125 °F (-40 to 52 °C), DC -40 to 104 °F (-40 to 40 °C). Standard voltages 24, 120, 240, 480 V AC 60 Hz (110, 220 V AC 50 Hz) and 6, 12, 24, 120, 240 V DC, specified when ordering. Low power and intrinsically safe constructions available.
